The Ferradermis Endowment Fund, managed by the Whitewater Community Foundation, generates passive income to support the operating expenses of the Ferradermis Robotics Competition Team. Our goal is to collect $500,000 in donations to finance robotic competitions at both the regional and global level, while also providing startup grants for new teams.

The Borglin Family Foundation and Kris Kirkland (class of 2007) have pledged to match community donations of up to $10,000, $20,000, $30,000, $40,000, and $40,000 during the years from 2022 to 2026. We believe this aggressive financing strategy will have an outsized impact on our community and the future of STEM education in Whitewater and the Rock Valley Conference.

About the fund

The Borglin Family Foundation worked with the Whitewater Community Foundation and Laura Masbruch to create the Ferradermis Endowment Fund in the winter of 2021. We are constantly looking for new ways to make the Ferradermis team more sustainable. If you’d like to help us fundraise, inquire, or become a part of our larger donations, please contact The Borglin Family Foundation at borglin.me@gmail.com.

Special thanks to Tim Walsh who helped us tremendously along the way.
