On Tuesday, February 6, seven student members of Ferradermis traveled to Madison for FIRST Wisconsin’s Advocacy Day. The team began their day at the Monona Terrace Convention Center for training before heading to the State Capitol.

Over the course of the day, the members met in small and large groups with 6 different senators and representatives including Senator Steve Nass, Representative Ellen Schutt, a staffer for Assembly Majority Leader Tyler August, Representative Francesca Hong, Representative Darrin Madison, and staffers for Representative Katrina Shankland.

The students were asking for continued support of the Robotics League Participation Grant and support for STEM education in general.

Three of our students also had the honor of doing a television interview with Channel 15 out of Madison, and they grabbed the opportunity to talk with students on an elementary school field trip and show them the robots on display.
